Ok here's my problem, I just bought a travelstar 7k60 60gb hard drive for my zv5000 series HP laptop to replace the stock 80gb slow hard drive, but my problem is, the hard drive fits but the interface that basically plugs the hard drive in so it can be seen/read by the computer is different than my stock one, what the hell am i supposed to do??? I thought it'd be a direct fit... please help me!

check out the pics below comparing the 2...

Hmm, my first instinct is to say you got the wrong interface, eg. SATA as opposed to UDMA. However, upon closer examination of the orientations of the stickers and various other parts of the hard drives...does the other side of the Hitatchi have more pins on it that look more like the ones on this side of the Fujitsu (HP default)? What about the Fujitsu, are there any pins on the other side of it?

I know it sounds silly, but you could be comparing two different ends of the drives...

Looks to me like there is some kind of adapter on your old HD.

You might want to take a closer look and see if it is. If so, it can probably be removed and placed on your new drive.

    That's my guess.

There is an adaptor on the old HD and it's easy to move to the new HD. Lots of us have upgraded to 7K60's this way. Great drive.
