Now that I've finally figured out how to properly install a video driver on my dv6-6135dx, it's time to address its CPU power. I've seen people claiming overclocks of 2.6-2.8GHz using K10STAT, but without overclocking the boost state, I think I can only hit 2.35. Do these people just have faster CPU's than my A8-3500m, or is there a trick I don't know about?

Did you try raising the voltage?

It's not a voltage issue, I don't have the option to select the multiplier.
