    Optiarc and TSSTcrop ???

    Bought a dell vostro 1400, the old one got a Optiarc dvd while the replacement got a Tsstcorp one, what companies are they which one is better?

    just a bit nosey. :D

    yeah I just found that also thanks and Optiarc is Sony Nec........now they made notebook roms..

    NEC probably has the better reputation, but I think Optiarc is a new (budget?) range and we may have to wait a year or two to be sure that the Optiarc range has maintained the NEC quality.

    Yeah, used to use NEC CDRW before, then I switched to LG seem not bad.
    Still I miss the panasonic 4X CDRW, classic!
