There are great deals out there right now on OCZ, Transcend & Kingston memory. Does anyone have a sense of which runs hotter?

Any other advantages of one over the others?

I am looking for either 667Mhz or 800Mhz 200-pin DDR2 SODIMM. For a given load, would one run hotter than the other?

Honestly, they should all run at about the same temperature. All memory chips are ultimately made by the same group of manufacturers and they all follow the same JEDEC specifications. If there is a variation in temperature, it's very small and just due to random variation in chips.

800MHz chips will run a bit hotter (again, negligibly) if it runs at 800MHz. Most conventional laptops support 800MHz memory at the moment, so this is really a non-issue.

Brand wize, the manufacturers most likely use the same memory cells from Samsung, Hyundai, SST, and Micron.

800Mhz memory will run slightly hotter than 667Mhz memory, but it will not be a noticeable amount of heat difference.
Since you have the AMD processor, I would look into the 800Mhz memory, since that should help give you a greater performance boost.

If you are looking for more performance, you can overclock the AMD in your L200, since you have an x200 chipset.
I think you can use ntune or setfsb.
I know a guy on nbr overclocked his amd turion.
