I would just like to know if anyone has or recommends over clocking laptop CPU like the Core2Duo or AMD chips (specificilly the intel chips) ?

It is possible, but not recommended....It is a pain to get the right overclocked frequency by continuously increasing FSB values, etc and then stressing them to see if they are free of errors..!!
This in turn decreases the life of the CPU, GPU, RAM and other parts of the motherboard, due to the reason that they get more frequency than normal and hence produce more heat --> which is the biggest enemy of any mobile system..!!
You also need to scan the motherboard (which means disassembling the notebook) or scan BIOS release notes, to know the correct CPU clock generator installed on your computer..!! Then finding the software that supports that clock generator....and then getting down to OCing the FSB..!!
And I guess mods say that OCing is not recommended to Newbies too.. -
So all in all it's not suggested just stick with the factory defaults.

Uhmm....YES..
