    Hi,
I have been looking high and low for a a notebook(from a reputed brand under 1300 USD- Dell, HP, Sony etc..) that has both- an AMD 64 bit processor(turion or athlon) and any of the mobile NVIDIA graphics GPUs. And i havent had any luck yet. Either its from a manufacturer other than the ones i would like to buy from or it comes with an ati card. Whats the reason for this?. Is there some marketing strategy between intel and nvidia and most of the notebook manufacturers bcuz most of the sub-1300USD notebooks that have nvidia on them come with intel processor. I am not averse to either intel or ati. Its just something i was hoping to buy for my needs.re Or the is some h/w issue that i dont know of. If i have been blind about this then plz direct me.

i too have noticed that su $1500 laptops with the turion chip dont have nvidia gpus. they mainly include the ATi Xpress200M.

However, the only amd+nvidia combos are huge DTRs which have desktop amd64s or X2s

just hope that the new turion X2 will come with a nvidia based gpu

Sager NP9750 would be an option.

Asus is one of the largest motherboard manufacturers and makes really high quality laptops with quality about to or equal to ibm in quality.

asus has made a lot of laptops before companies rename them such as apple, ibm etc...

sager has been making computer for 20 years and are really popular amongst performance users and gamers for laptops.

It would be best to wait if you can. The X2 is more powerful then the duo core in various aspects but runs hotter as its a desktop processor.

ok ....so i was ignorant for sure... :)....asus surely is in my list of serious consideration now. I will do some more research. But I checked the sager site the only things the have with amd and nvidia on are above 2K USD. but interesting read was they are releasing world's 1st 19in with dual 7800 gpu notebook....I almost fell off my chair reading that.

Yep you won't be able to get a Sager like you are looking for under 1,300 or any of the Clevo based resellers for that matter. (Alienware, Hyper, Falcon, Vodoo, Widdow, etc) Many of the systems from what I've been able to find out are basically the same.

You will not find a Dell with an AMD in it, for some reason they are an intel only manufacturer even though I frankly am not an intel fan at the present especially for gaming.

Asus is definetly worth looking into, I have built several desktops on an Asus motherboard with great results. They are a leading preformance motherboard maker and as with all computers the notebooks are built from the motherboard up.
