    Hi all,
I have acer aspire 7720g laptop. Originally came with nvidia 9300m g 256mb video card. This card is very weak. Then I bought a nvidia 9650m GT 1GB from ebay and it worked. I had to disable power mizer to fix driver issue though.

Now I bought another card from ebay(coz it was a very good deal)
Nvidia 9600m GT 1GB. This card was taken out from a ASUS laptop. The card even has ASUS printed on it.

After I put that on my laptop, for some reason, nothing comes on screen. I hear the windows 7 startup sound. I can tell the windows boot and everything, but no display on screen. Then I replaced it with my previous working card and everything back to normal.

Any idea why is this happening? Do I need to flash the vbios from ASUS to Acer?
If so how, i mean i dont get any display. Or is it that the card is bad.

Any ideas would be great. Thank you.

Have you plugged it into an external monitor see if you get output?
