I was wondering which graphics card is better, the 8600M GS or 7950GTX?

    7950 is a faster card.

The 7950GTX kills the 8600M-GS, though puts out more heat and consumes more power (meaning you'll find it in heavier and less portable notebooks).

There currently is nothing faster than the 7950 for laptops. Right now I'm working on the Toshiba X200 with the 8700m gt and I don't get near the 3d mark scores of some of the 7950 laptops =(

    Cheers.

If DX10 is taken out of the equation no comparison but since DX10 is a non developed platform 7950GTX kills the 8600m GS it kicks the 8600m GT to no belief!!

while i do agree that without dx10 the 7950 is better but i would still think a 7950GTX would still be faster than a 8600GS especially. i mean what it lacks on DX10 features, it would make up for sheer performance and speed.

DX10 games on a 8600GS? Don't think so, unless you are used to play with 20fps ;-)

The Go7950GTX is faster as noted, read the GPU Guide.

the nvidia 7950GTX woul easily beat the 8600 GT in benchamarks and games hands down
the only advantage that the 8600 GT has is DX10 other than tht as others said the 7950 kicks 8600GTs ass :p
