I have a 3-yr-old Averatec 2260-EK1 laptop with a single 1GB DDR PC-3200 module installed. There is only one slot. The specs say it can handle 2GB but I can't seem to find a 2GB DDR PC-3200 module anywhere. Do they (or did they) even make them? I know I can't use DDR2 memory (different pin config).

Any ideas? I emailed the manufacturer.... no response.

You can get a 2GB stick faster than PC-3200. It will simply downclock itself.

I was not able to find a stick of SO-DIMM 2GB of DDR anything. As you said, your laptop tops out with 2GB of memory, but I can't find a stick of that anywhere.

Bummer. Looks like I'm stuck at 1GB. That's okay, it'll make a good linux box (if I can get all the components to work with linux). Thanks for the replies.
