    Hello,

I will buy soon a New Lenovo x220 but the drive bay is only 7mm thick. So, I can't put a nice SSD in 9.5mm format. The only possibility is the Intel X-25 without its spacer.

I recently discover the new msata SSD like the Intel 310. It would be the best combination to do a ssd/hdd combo in my laptop.

My question is, does other alternatives will come out soon?

    Thanks a lot.

Past 945 chipset, x series has supported 2.5" SATA drives. The stock Lenovo drive in the x220 is 7mm 2.5" with some sort of spacer but 9mm 2.5" SATA drives WILL work in the x220.

I'm not so sure about that, as this thread seems to say the exact opposite. I suppose we'll have to wait to find out for sure, though.
