Today I get to open my Inspiron 1520 (waiting two whole weeks for Xmas Eve) and, naturally, plan to upgrade the ram a.s.a.p. Now, this isn't a topic asking about how to upgrade - found a vid on YT for that - but rather mismatching types.

See for a while, I always thought it would be better to have 2 x 1gb sticks, evenly matched and all. But then reading a few things lately, I'm wondering if having 2.5gb of ram would be better. That way, the ram under the keyboard isn't fiddled with; honestly, I'm a bit hesitant to open up my laptop with it being so new.

Any experiences with 2.5gb ram, anyone?

Here be the cart I have in question:

Forgive the horrid jpeg quality; working on my mom's desktop for now, and no Photoshop.

I know the rule of thumb with RAM is getting ones with a lifetime warranty, but when you're on a budget... ;)

I have to say i LOVE how affordable ram has become. It makes having a fast computer much easier for the mainstream.
