New computer and has a Hitachi hard drive with it. Its total size is 750gb. I installed xp on the fresh bios, and it said only a total of 120gb was available, yet even the hard drive read on the label 750gb?

do i need to format it or something? its really frustrating me :S !

    kind regards !

I believe this was a common issue with non-patched xp. You need to update it to at lest sp1 or sp2 (sp3 is the newest).

What notebook model do you have? Many of them will not be able to support more than 120gb drive, regardless of OS level.

    cheers ...
