    Hey,
    I bought a new Seagate external hard drive today to back up my music/documents/movies. Anyway, I can successfully cut and paste files between my hard drives. I let the process run its course and came back to find that whenever I try to access either "My Music" or my external HD I am promted within 10 seconds that an error has occured and all unsaved progress will be lost. What is the deal? I can "transfer" files in the first place but once I do I can touch them! :confused:

    I have no clue whats going on here- any ideas?

    Could you give us some details regarding the hard drive (2.5", 3.5") and what sort of connection you're using?

    Sounds like you might need to format that drive.

    Did you see anthing that says ;

    "Delayed write failed ..Windows was unable to save all the data for the file .... The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere."?
