i just got this laptop and have been in quandry as to what and how to upgrade the memory to.

looking at the specs of my STOCK memory it says its a:

DDR2 PC5300 667MHZ which i usually find on other memory modules except that their was an entry about the module to be REGISTERED?

seem not to find this on any of the modules i have seen so far.

SO, to rest my bothered head for keeps, can someone please enlighten me as to what kind, brand i should ideally get?

i was looking at KVR667D2S5K2/4G at newegg

i was told by kingston that their KTH-ZD8000B/2G is the ideal upgrade.

ive read from one of the threads here suggesting G.SKILL

hopefully somebody here can enlighten me. thanks a lot guys. now time to look for that tylenol

Link to registered memory. I doubt you need registered RAM but what do I know? Here is a link where it says RAM for your specific computer and is not registered. If you don't need it you don't want it.

They gave you incorrect information. The link leads to a DIMM which is a desktop memory and not notebook memory. All you need is a 200pin DDR2 667(PC5300/5400) SODIMM. The ones you linked from Kingstion or Gskill should work just fine in your system.
