    Greeting Notebookites:

I have a HP Pavilion 17 notebook 2013 Model. I seen that my APU has an 1866Mhz integrated memory controller, So I invested in Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit. I seen from the advertising thats its set up for the latest AMD and Intel Hardware(XMP) and little to no adjustment are necessary-like Biosville . I installed and seen that indeed its rated FSB is 933Mhz, however all info,CPU-Z ect said it was running at 800MHZ-FSB,,I also seen it fluctuated to 808Mhz by itself in CPU-Z.

I downloaded AMD Overdrive and searched for 1866Mhz settings to no avail,,I then went to AMD Catalyst Control Center-CCC and set the quad Core up to maximum speed-integrated into CCC to do this and nothing else,,,I opened AMD overdrive and started to tool around, I was in Board Status of AMD Overdrive Utility and seen that DDR3 Pair went up to 933MHz FSB,,I did some more tooling around and discovered the DDR3 FSB is increased automatically when a load comes thru the DDR3 Ram Pair in Dual Channel and then decreased automatically when the load subsides. Actually goes Higher than 933Mhz on the fly and then subsides as load subsides.

DDR3L-14900 Ballistix Sport Pair tops out at 983,82Mhz,,its seem intel -xmp locking ram to a certain frequency has been surpassed by AMD,,no doubt its patented and INtel will paying royalites again to AMD,ect to use this superior technology. Its inefficient to have ram locked into higher frequency at idle..From what I see AMD memory controller stays within Jedec Standards on DDR3-timings as listed in CPU-Z ect.... :)

Overdrive automatic overclock is greyed out and cant be used.. :)

Also from looking at the AMD temperatures of the Quad Core they are running very cool 31-34C..... :)

    Cheers

Truth in advertising still exists,,lol,,, :),

Thank You Robert Hewlett and Vance Packard(HP) and AMD and Micron and Crucial.and Newegg-bought off ebay 4 sets there,,got one of the last ones....
Anyone here think HP,AMD,Micron(Crucial) is not State of the Art ? lol.... :)..Thank You Dr Barry Lam and associates for your parts in this as well.

Summary: Set Quad Cores up to Maximum Speed and your 1866Mhz integrated controller will adjust the memory FSB for load and non load conditions up to and exceeding 933Mhz FSB and then down tick it keeping your system automatically cooled by power adjustments... :) I'm running Windows 8.1-64 Bit Full Retail Version bought over the counter & Logitech Laser Mouse 5000 DPI,Seagate backup Plus USB 3,0 and Samsung EVO 250GB SSD,etc,DSL Provider AT&T, :)
