    Hi Guys,

I purchased a laptop from eBay and I need to get a replacement AC Adapter for this Toshiba L675-06X 17" Notebook. I am not sure what I need to get, I found a few online for the "L675" model but nothing found for "L675-06X", can someone let me know if any "L675" adapters work for this model or can someone suggest one for me?

Toshiba 17" Satellite L675-06X Notebook is the model I bought.

    Thanks!

    T

That's a bit pricey! I guess it's worth it though.

That's a 3rd party knock off. For batteries/chargers I would stick with OEM. If you see an AC adapter under 50 bucks, it's probably 3rd party.

I completely agree with Tsunade_Hime, always buy name brand (especially in very critical things like power supplies -you don't want a cheap one to start a house fire or destroy your laptop because it couldn't handle a small voltage spike on the AC line; just so you can save a few bucks now)

    -Buy OEM
-Buy from a major reseller (Frys, Microcenter, Best Buy, NewEgg, ect... ect... but NOT from ebay, or a 'random online reseller')
-Enjoy trouble free operation from the power supply with no worries of issues
-If there are issues then you have a legit product from a legit reseller so you should be able to find a resolution somewhere pretty easily

Those are the basics of "buy once and never need to buy again"

Also, use it plugged into some kind of surge protector at ALL times (a normal OEM power supply can handle some small voltage spikes, and AC varience, but for the stuff that would fry your notebook you need a surge protector at all times; I use one of these at the very least when mobile - Micro Center - Belkin Mini Surge Protector with USB Charger BZ103050VTVL- and my power supply is plugged into a large surge protector at home)

Ebay resellers are fine IF they are reputable. Aka not someone with 60% feedback and 4 items sold but people who have sold hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of items on Ebay and have like 99.8% feedback.

True, but you also get those sellers that sell fake products all the time, have 100% feedback (but do so by 'extorting' the buyer in some way. eg: telling the buyer they will refund their money if they give positive feedback, return the item to them, and promise not to take action as "I didn't know this was a fake... honest... but I'm going to take this up with my supplier... ect..ect..")

There is that and more that make me cautious of things like power supplies and batteries on ebay (if they just slap a legit sticker on a fake, 99% of people can't tell the difference); and while it can work out great, it can also go south pretty fast (the ones selling fakes, know they are, and will try to cover it up) which is why I'm saying to avoid ebay for the power supply

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am in Canada, the problem with ordering from those places is the time it takes to get here to Canada (probably by bear) and the duty charges... I found this one on the Toshiba Canada online store: Will this one work with my laptop? Says its compatible with the L675 and L675D series, mine is a L675-06X so I am assuming this one shold work:

    Toshiba Canada - mobile computing - accessories - power - 19V, 6.3A AC Adapter

    Thanks for all your help!
