My Dell D600 has decieded it does not want to turn on anymore and I was wondering if I take out the hard drive is there some way I can get the data off it? Like something that I could hook up to the hard drive and plug into a computer...this may sound stupid I dont know but any advice would be great thanks.

you can put it into an external usb hard drive case. They are pretty cheap and easy to use.

yeah, that's going to be the easiest thing to do. You can buy an external kit for about 10 bucks from newegg.com . You'll have to pull the HDD out, and connect it to the usb connector. Then you can plug the usb cord into any computer and access it like it is a spare drive, and get any files that you need.

External enclosure is very help and useful. When you need it, just plug and ready to use anytime. When you don't need it, just unplug it for protection from virus and save the life time of hd.......
