    Hey guys,

I recently bought an HP W2207H 22'' LCD Monitor connect it on my Toshiba A100-906 laptop (VGA).

I have made the external LCD to be my main monitor in the "display properties" and just close my laptop since I won't be using it as an extended desktop monitor.

Now I am having some troubles with it.

My external monitor keeps disconnecting for like a sec, and then reconnects again. The screen goes black for like .5 sec, then the sound of "Device disconnected" and "device connected" buzz in.

It's like every 5 mins or 10 mins, the sound keeps buzzing and the monitor goes to black for an instance.

    It's really irritating.

Another thing is, when I shutdown, restart, or sleep/wakup my laptop, it boots normally, then the screen on the external monitor goes to sleep, and the screen on the laptop now becomes the primary. The way to make the external LCD primary again is to go through the display properties and do the same thing in my first few lines.

    Help me out guys. T_T

    Thanks alot in advaced.

Well, as far as I know you are probably stuck with the shutdown/reboot issue since the laptop reverts back to normal settings when its rebooted or revived from sleep or hibernate.
    as for the disconecting issue:
does the moitor plug scew into the laptop or just plug in.
if it just plugs in then perhaps the connection is being disturbed while in use. Be sure that the monitor is plugged in completely and as securely as possible.
other possible reasons could be a faulty cable, to test this switch the cable with another cable(if possible).

Hope this helps in some way

    Fry

Hey there, sorry for the late reply.

My external LCD still goes to black for a sec, then turns back on again.

When I'm opening a game, ie. Warcraft III or Crysis, my external LCD goes to "Sleep" and my laptop's lcd is now the primary. It's really annoying :(
