I just bought the 8662 :D and 100% sure of everything i bought on it except the resolution :p .I decided to take the 1920x1200 over the 1680x1050 and now I'm starting to question my decision(lol which dint happen when i purchased the laptop  ) .I'm not sure any more if i should stay with the 1920x1200 or go with 1680x1050.I'm going to be mostly playing games, movies and doing some school stuff (programming) on it.I was also wondering about the image quality differences on the glossy and mate screen.

Please , any info or advice is greatly appreciated. :)

Thx a lot for you help !

Keep the high resolution. If you're used to lower resolutions, it might take you a day or two to get used to, but then you'll thank me, and anything lower than 1920x1200 will seem so huge and pixelated.

yeah well the thing is i currently have a 24" at home for my desktop and i use 1920x1200 and i love it, thats why i chose this in the first place but i read that glossy is a lot more "nice" when playing games and watching movies wich im going to be focusing on with this laptop(also a little of photpshop) .Whats confusing me is the glossy/matte. Is glossy that much better when viewing movies and playing games than matte ?

Also, could I , if I feel that 1920x1200 is to big on a 15", down my resolution to 1680x1050 ? ( im pretty sure i can but just want to be positive)

    Thx for the replies! :D

Glossy displays tend to have brighter and more vivid colors, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with a matte display either.

If you find things too small, you can lower the resolution to 1680x1050, but I recommend upping the DPI instead. It's 96 by default in Windows. Setting it to 120 will make things larger.

I wish I had gone with the WUXGA screen. Just buy the Blu-ray drive and don't look back.

The 1200p might be too much for the upcoming games though.

WSXGA is THE perfect res at your screen size, IMO.

Not only is it great for work (text readability/no need to adjust dpi) it also will give a little better performance in games. Running games at native res is a must and I really think that the res you picked is perfect.

As for BD, 1200p is hardly going to be noticeable vs the 1050 on a 15" screen, IMO.

Now, I just wish AW would have released the WSXGA res for the M17x as the default option instead of the crappy 1440 x 900 :(
