Does anyone know where I can download a simple (read: easy to use and understand :D ) program to check on the temperature of my CPU and hard drive? I just got my computer (a Gateway) a few days ago and the temp seemed ok. Today, it was definitely much hotter on my hand and lap and the fan is running more. It has since cooled down some but still seems hotter than it was the first few days.

I'd like to be able to see how hot this thing is running and if it is within normal.

Thanks radditz - For some reason my computer won't let me open the file. I keep getting the error "Failed to communicate with the ACPI driver."

Ok, I got the NHC downloaded and it's working. Two questions about it though if anyone is familiar:

    1. I have this message in the ACPI control system section: "ACPI control system in not yet configurated for this system." What does this mean and how do I configure it? Or do I want to configure this? Or do I not want to mess with this?

    2. Is the message above the reason why I can't get a reading on my HD? (Well, it reads at 0 degrees C.)

ETA: I also got SpeedFan and it does show my HD temp. I read in some older posts that other people had the same problem. Does anyone know why SpeedFan can read the HD temp but NHC cannot?

These are temp. sensors installed in different places of the laptop. For example near the GPU or on the motherboard.Search the internet too find out where the temp. sensors are located.
