Sorry but i need an answer fast as i am in a bit of a rush as i have a time limit.
    ----------
    My laptop:
    HP DV2000t
    Core2 Duo 2GHZ ( i think this unit has a 667 bus)
    -----------------

    I have this right now:
    OCZ Value 1GB 200-Pin SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5400) Notebook Memory
    Timing: 5-5-5-15
    Cas Latency: 5

Would there be ANY PROBLEM if i install the RAM below? would my system still function as dual channel?

    Corsair Value 1GB 200-PIN SO-DIMM DDR2 (PC2 5300)
    Timing: ???
    Cas Latency: 5

If the Corsair has a DIFFERENT TIMING, would that cause any problems? Would it still run in dual channel?

I don't know about your system specifically, but some laptops are very sensitive when it comes to timings and may/will not work if the timings aren't right.

    and the CORSAIR 1GB DDR2 667MHZ = $66 + $5 (shipping)

I believe these are **** GREAT PRICES as newegg sells them for $90+ while others sell them at $110+

So what did you get? 533mhz (the original post) or 667mhz (the last post). If you got 533 mhz, the memory will work fine but at 533 mhz and the old RAM, if faster, will degrade to 533 mhz as well.

If you install 2x1GB RAM, it *should* be able to run dual-channel, regardless of timings. (Note I said "should". There's no guarantee, the bios might be buggy or whatever, but if it works as it's supposed to, it will be able to do it)

It will also possibly just take both sticks down to the timings of the slowest one. Not a huge deal, since they're both pretty fast, but that's been my experience with RAM in the past.

does it require the sticks to be the same maker to work in dual-channel?

I usually think that, and also advise that, but technically, if both the sticks have the same frequency, MHz, and capacity, then they should run under Dual-Channel.
