    HI

I am looking for a new external HHD. After looking around a bit I found the QNAP TS-412. It looks great and does not cost too much. But I can not use it as a NAS network HDD as it is supposed to be used. I would have to use it as a normal external HDD. I just want to know if this would cause any problems?
The reason I am asking is that if I am to buy a normal external 4 bay HDD like the LaCie 4big Quadra 4TB it would cost me 200 dollars more.

    Thanks for the help :)

How are you trying to use it? Just as an external fileserver? I've got a TS-219P+ and I can use it as normal fileserver without any trouble.

Yes. Just as a normal fileserver. No different than a external HDD. Would that be a problem?

Yes. Just as a normal fileserver. No different than a external HDD. Just wont to know if that would be a problem or if I get any lower transfer speeds when I use it that way?

    Thanks
