My laptops HDD is damaged and i also get random freezes...did u run the checks on harddisk?

try HD Tune and run some tests on its performance and check it for errors also.

Im gonna get some screwdriver set to open up the laptop tomorrow (yeah its not regular screws.. stupid) and swap the hdd with a bigger one, but slower :\ oh well if it fixes the problem i get more space and no freeze..

im gonna try hd tune in moment..

also, does your laptops freezes match the way mine behaves? like just freeze.. keyboard or mouse doesnt respond or anything.. then i rebooted and while booting up xp again it rebooted again.. this could most likely but harddisk, no? why it freeze at the boot manager, blows my mind tho.. well it could be while accesing the hdd for something i dunno..

test your memory first with memtest86+

use some linux live cd (e.g. ubuntu) and try to boot it and see if the system will still free while working from live cd (it is bad news then).

    then check your hdd etc.

Try swap the RAMs and reseat the RAM, also check the fan of the laptop if that been clouded with dusty and turn slower.
Overheated laptop may cause the VGA to lockup sometimes, more serious may shut down the laptop.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for your response bill!

im going to check out and reseat the ram.
Its not overheating, the cpu is around 50-55 and same with gpu (when not stressed ofcourse) so i dont think overheating is the issue..

Okay so its not the HDD.. I've reseated the ram and and it still freezes..

Disabled C-State ability just to try something.. Looks like i have to wait until vacation is over, then send it into crapto so they can try and fix it.. i will probably get it back with the problem still being there seeing as zepto is known to do that..
