I plan to buy a caddy to be able to mount a HDD insted of the optical drive in a Dell Latitude E-series. But I also wish to be able to mount the same drive, caddy and all, in a desktop.

Has anyone heard of something like this? I know that 5.25->slimline adapters are readily available, but I guess they won't fit an optical drive/hdd mounted in a proprietary caddy.
