This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Memory card & driver?

    Here is a stupid question: do memory cards/ram need drivers? More specifically, if two same model machines have only different memory capacity, and you replace the hard drive of one with the other, do you need to download the "driver" for the memory that replaces the original one?

    Nope. Ram modules do not need driver.

    Thanks, good to know. When I see you answer I just realized how stupid I was: people keep adding rams without having to download new 'drivers'! :p
