I have an old Fujitsu C2220 laptop and would like to upgrade the memory to 1 or 2gb. However, it says the max RAM allowed is 768 mb? It is an old penitum 4-m 2.4ghz. the ram type is ddr sdram and is 400mhz front side bus cache.

How can I put 1 or 2gb of ram in here?
-
Well apparently you only have 1 memory slot available. 256mb of ram are embedded in the motherboard, and a slot is available for another 512.
-
can I put a 1gb stick in there, or a 2gb instead of a 512?
-
where can i find the specs of the mainboard chipset and bios?
-
I doubt you can out a 2GB stick in there.
Also DDR 400 are pretty expensive now. -
Thanks for the info. I emailed them
I don't know if its worth upgrading this laptop. I send it in for repair of a new fan which will cost around $110 but I want to see if I can put some more RAM in it to speed it up. It is 4 years old now, but it still worked well for the most part. Just hope I don't have to spend more than $50 -$75 on RAM -
I just got a new fan in this laptop, and it may be 5 years old, but after a clean format, it is running like new. I have decided to go ahead and update the ram in this laptop. I know the link I first included says a max of 768mb is allowed, but after searching around, wanted to know if this RAM is compatible? If its not, please let me know why, and what specifically to look for when searching for RAM that works with this laptop.

Anyone got an answer?
Am I really stuck to 768 or can I use the 1gb stick to make a 1.25 gb laptop? -
Will the 1gb stick work or do I have to settle for a 512mb stick?
-
Anyone got an answer, I want to buy the 1GB Stick and want it to work

First Bump

2nd Bump?
Possible or not to get the 1gb out of that stick?
