Hello all i am new to computer and very new to laptops, but i purchased a M1530 and i need some memory upgrade. I will be getting 667 instread of the 800 because i have readed in other post that the m1530 cant support the 800 and it will just downclock it to 667 anyways. Here is my question and i know is a old topic but i want to know is "Dual Channel" 2gb better or 3gb of 1x2gb1x1gb also 4gb "Dual Channel" of 2x2gb. I know a 32bit ultimate cant even use 4gb but is "Dual Channel" so that should even out right? thanks.
Choices
1.2gb Dual Channel 1x1gb 1x1gb
2.3gb 1x2gb 1x1gb
3.4gb Dual Channel 2x2gb

If you can afford 2x2GB, you might as well get it. Otherwise, if money is a concern, get 1x1GB + 1x2GB, as that will give the same performance, and will give games full dual channel support.

nice thx for the quick reply 1 more question what brand for memory is good?

For laptops it doesn't really matter. Kingston, Crucial, OCZ, GSkill, Patriot, etc. Really whatever's on sale is fine. If you're buying now, I'd get something like one of these if you don't mind rebates:
