    Hi,

I recently purchased Diablo 3 and realized that I could achieve its full potential by upgrading my MSI Gx620's NVIDIA 9600m GT video card. I was wondering if this could even be done and if it would be at all possible for a person with little to no computer hardware experience, like myself.

I thank you in advance for any help/advice.

ati 4670, or if you buy a new heatsink you can use a nvidia 9800m gs or gts160m (you need a bigger power adapter too) or with some modification you can use an ati 3850/3870.

Because the bigger videocard needs a better cooling solution. If you don't want to mod anything you should stick with the 4670. Here's a guide what you need to do:
    MSI GX620 MXM upgrade

you can get the card cheaper on ebay. Either the DDR2 or the DDR3 version is available with 1GB memory.

The 9600m gt is a great card so no point trying to change something that could cause harm to your laptop and money. The benfit you will get is not worth the risk. If your laptop cpu is 2ghz you won't benefit much anyway. I would advise against it and save uip for a new machine.

There are a couple of good options in the NBR marketplace right now, 9800m gt and fx 2700m.

I also have the larger heatsink (already modded to fit ati cards) and an ati 4870 that I would be willing to sell for the right price.
