I know the M1530 can be purchased with the Bluetooth 355 module installed, but can it be purchased later and installed by the user?

I've seen third party vendors offering this module as a user upgradable part, but for the life of me, I can't find any information specific to the M1530. The User Manual describes how to install and remove it, but Dell does not offer this part as an upgrade on their website. It was only available as an option during my initial configuration prior to the purchase. Also, it's my understanding that there are atleast two different interfaces available, but yet again, neither mention the M1530 as a compatible laptop.

    Anybody got any idea?

yes, bluetooth capability can be bought on a mini pcie card for laptops. They are cheap. You can either by a bluetooth chip separately, or you can buy a new wireless card which supports bluetooth, ot you can do it the easy way and buy a $10-20 bluetooth usb card, which you simply plug in and BAM you have bluetooth.

Appreciate the information, K-Tron. I'll probably persue the mini pcie card option. The M1530 only has 3 USB ports. I'm currently using a USB mouse, USB printer and USB ext-HDD. I need room to shoot tethered to my camera. A bluetooth mouse would solve my delimma. Thanks again.

EDIT: (4-6-2008) - Called Dell today. They sold me a BT 355 module for the M1530 for a around $25.00 including tax.
