I wasn't too sure what category to put this thread in so sorry if i intrude on this one. I have a Sager NP 5791 gaming laptop and i like to bring it to class every now and then. Problem is, its kinda embarrassing when the sheer loudness of the fan rivals that of my prof trying to teach. Is there any way of somehow decreasing the fan or turning it off or something. (and switching to power saving mode does nothing)

Its a Clevo, so you should be able to press Fn+F2, to control the fans. I dont see how that thing is loud, it only has 2 fans.

Mine has 4 fans, and I just care about low temps, and high rpm fans, sound does not bother me in college classes. It bothers other people, but like anything more noise=more power.

You should try getting GetThermal, it should read your cpu, gpu temps, and it allows you to change fan speed - I believe the program works with most Clevo chassis. It works on my U709, which is a Clevo D900K.

Its most likely your graphics card making the noise. You most likely have an nVidia GPU, so download a copy of RIva Tuner. In there, you can change fan speeds. You have to go to monitoring.

    Good Luck,

    K-TRON

Fn+F2 was for the previous model of Clevo's.

Only the new Clevo D900C has a Fan Toggle (Fn+1)... which the M570RU does not have one yet (I have been voicing my suggestions to update their BIOS and keyboard firmware to enable the Fan Toggle)

I recommend to turn down the power settings for the GPU (in PowerMizer when on battery)
