Did you maybe push or bump the fn key to toggle the display off or to an external monitor?

Take the battery pack and AC power out

Hold the power button for 30 seconds or more

Try starting up again but only using AC power

It sounds like a lcd connectivity issue.
Do you have any external monitors around. Try connecting your system to an external screen. If teh external screen posts any information, but your lcd doesnt, than your lcd is teh problem. If nothing posts on the external, your graphics card may be dying, resulting in nothing showing up.

If the external works, but the lcd doesnt, take the screen lid apart, you will have to take apart a good bit of the lid. You will want to get to the back of the lcd. Their is a ribbon cable back their, and it may have come loose. Just reconnect and use a piece of tape to hold the cable in position. Hopefully its just a connectivity issue, so it is not a hard fix
