I dont mind that it's small or even the resolution that much but blacks and colours are really washed out. Is there any way I can swap it out with a better one and how much am I looking at?

For the one in your sig? It does come with a 1080p option out of factory, so that's a good start. Now you can start to research if the pins are 40 on your cable and if there are differences between the 720p and 1080p cables.

As for the LCD panels themselves, the absolute best one available is the AUO B156HW01 V.4 95% Gamut LCD. It'll run you about $100+ sourced from a reputable place.

    It is definitely possible, yes.

Oh okay thats great, yeah I remember the model itself having 1080p variants, would the black levels and colour depth be the same? Also would Lenovo be willing to do it themselves?

Its just that hooking it up to my external screen and then having to play with a keyboard and mouse is such a pain.

Lenovo would never do that for you, no. You'll have to do it or find someone to do it for you. The blacks and colors on the AUO LCD I suggested is spectacular. Only IPS panels will rival it.

Thanks for the info, my warranty will be up in December so I'll do it then. Where can I find more info about doing this as well as other products. I also live in the UK so not everything might be available but $100 is a very decent price for the quality you say it is.

Lenovo might have a service manual on their site. I would browse through their support files and see if there are any manuals you can download. That might shed some light.

Try right clicking on the desktop. Do you see Nvidia control panel listed?

I can get Control Panel up but can't find the options you're talking about.
