Just received vostro 1700 with WUXGA screen. I noticed there is some lightbleed around top and bottom of screen, it is only visible when the screen is black like on startup. Is there any solution to this? I REALLY dont want the hassle of returning it. Do i just put up with it?

It's a hardware issue, there's not much you can do about it short of replacing the screen. Conceivably you can ask Dell to send you a new screen, but I've just been putting up with mine.

I mean to me, unless it's a blank screen, it's not that easy to notice the bleed.

err. don't u think you're in the best position to answer that question ..? pop in a couple of dvd's... and figure out whether it's too distracting.. or whether it's okay .. if it's a slight bleed .. i suggest u put up with it ... considering it's a dell and the hassles you might have to face to get anything changed..
