I have lenovo x1 carbon 2nd generation touch screen, unfortunately it suffered a tea spill at its back, while it was turned on, now the screen is black, and the laptop is working, but the only way to use it is by external display through hdmi.

I started the a journey of trying to repair, I went to a lenovo shop where I live, and they requested almost the same price of a used same model latpop to change its display!, since they said the display lcd is damaged and need replacement.

I tried to do it my self, I ordered a new lcd screen from ebay, and new cable but it did not work!

I don't really know what to do next, please if you have any clue, kindly suggest..

    The situation now is:
    • New cable installed
    • New screen installed
    • The touch is working
    • The device manager doesn't list the built in display, only the external monitor!
I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone may have.

    Thanks

Maybe you have blown a LCD backlight fuse?

Check on the internal LCD if picture is displayed but the screen isn't turning bright.

I am thinking in a workaround, instead of risking with fuses,.. I am thinking to connect my HDMI to the screen, i am not sure if this is applicable, Is there a cable that output HDMI to LVDS?,
