I purchased a gateway 2400 24 inch lcd from bb 3 weeks ago. I had to return it because it had stuck pixels. Since then i have been through 3 more of those monitors (all had dead pixels) I ended up exchanging the last gateway for a samsung 2693 hm 25.5 inch monitor. Guess what stuck pixel. IS this the norm with these bigger lcd's? would you guys keep returning them until you get one with no stuck pixels. Everytime i go in there some geek squad guy tells me that he does not see the stuck pixel and i have to point it out to him. Oh btw they gave me the samsung for 399.99 regularly 600.00. should i go exchange it, or should i say heck with it? What are your thoughts? Thanks

Wow, you have some bad luck at buying monitors. That really blows 4 monitors with stuck pixels.
I would keep the Samsung, and try to fix the stuck pixel.
Take your finger and press softly against the screen, and swirl around the stuck pixel. After about 10 rotations, the pixel should come back on.
I had this problem on my Samsung lcd panel in my dell laptop. A pixel was stuck in the green color. I swirled my finger around a few times, and it was fixed.
It was amazing, I was so happy.
try this, and if you cant get it fixed, try returning it again.
They should allow you to test the panel in the store.

    Good luck

i will try to massage it, i did that with the gateways, to no avail. Ya they let me test the last gateway in the store. and i had them dl a pixel tester. bam dead pixel. When he offered the samsung for 399, i did not want to wait around for him to change his mind.

i have never been able to get a stuck pixel to come back to life. as in this case, it did not work. should i just live with it or should i try yet another one. at the price point i want to keep the monitor, but would be nice to get one with no stuck/dead pixels.

It can work in some cases, if done carefully.

Also, using a program like Dead Pixel Tester can sometimes have an effect.

These methods can work for stuck pixels, though they are less likely to work for dead ones.

To the OP: Sorry to hear about your troubles. I've had my Dell 2407WFP for over a year now, with no dead pixels, so it is possible to find one without.
