I have a ASUS A4000 which performs quite well except for a bad screen flicker which has recently started. After it has been on for an hour or so the screen flickers to complete whiteout. If I hinge the screen back and forwards it returns to normal and will remain OK for a while then the process starts again. It appears that the fault lies in the hingeing area. Is that possible and is there a fix??
    Thanks for any help

I know this isn't much help but I would just call Asus and see what can be done.

I wonder if there's a loose connection on the digital signal to the screen. You can try to find the ends of the cable and re-seat the connections. Otherwise it maybe the cable itself which is damaged.

An inverter problem would cause a black screen.

It would appear that the fault lies in the hingeing as only a small movement of the panel will fix it. Is there a cable that connects the screen to the unit??.
Would it be soldered or plug in??

    Thanks
