Hey guys, just got the X-FI notebook.
First impression are that it's alot smaller and has alot less software to install.
A shame that there's no THX certification, DVD-Audio and hardware DD and DTS decoding. The lack of hardware EAX is a bit troublesome too.
Despite all of this, the sound is incredibly good, just as good as my X-Fi platinum on the desktop that does have hardware acceleration and THX certification.
Tried it using Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 Speakers and Creative Gigaworks 7.1 speakers and the sound is really impressive. But what really amazed is the sound through my Shure E530 earphones...amazing. A big improvement over the onboard realtek audio.

Too bad about the missing features as compared to the Audigy 2 ZS notebook though.

    Questions are welcome. :)

Never had the Audigy 2 ZS notebook, but since the Audigy 2 ZS notebook is basically the same to the Desktop Audigy 2 ZS that sounded a bit less tha the X-fi I would say it should sound comparable....so still impressive sound.
Less features on the x-fi notebook compared to the ZS notebook and no hardware accelearation.
But Audio quality is definitly on par with the X-fi platinum and Audigy 2 ZS which I own.
