    Just another GL960 with 3G RAM

    cpu-z shows it as GM965,everest shows it as GL960 and indicate max ram is 2G
    two ram slots(in cpu-z they r slot 1 and slot 2)
    if u put the 2g stick in the slot 1,after the OS load the drivers it will immediately give u a BSOD.
    but put it into slot 2 and 1g in slot 1,the system works fine.
    just for reference if anyone want to upgrade their ram with a GL960 mobo

    OK. It shows 3GB, but is it using it all? The performance page of Task Manager should tell you how much RAM Windows can use.

    I have 2.5GB in my Sony G11 but the chipset can only address 2GB so Vista only gets 2GB to play with.

    taskmgr shows total 3g on the performance page~

    Yes it does, some support 800Mhz FSB now it goes beyond the 2GB's officially supported in documentation. Seems like in some circumstance all but discrete graphics are supported like GM965 and PM965. As you said John, "a strange beast". I think Commander Wolf is about the most on top of this as any member.
