I have been looking at the bus speed for my new laptop, and it seems low. Is this meaning it is slow? =/

    Processer Brand: Intel®
    Processer type: Core 2 Duo
    Processer speed: 2.0GHz
    Bus Speed: 667MHz
    evel 2 cache: 2MB

No, why do you think its slow?

Its as fast as the notebooks most people currently have.

My friend has told me it was, I'm not very good with understanding those types of things lol. But other laptops list the bus speeds at 1600 or so. I don't know why mine is only in the 600's although I might be mis-understanding.

That depends. What are you going to use it for? If it's just for general usage it should still be pretty fast. Well, it looks fast to me, but then again, I don't use Vista, so...

I download alot of things, so I want a decent speed for that.

Yes you probably confused clock speed with bus speed.

Processors power is the clock speed. Intel C2D 2ghz = 2000mhz

Bus speed is how fast it communicates with the RAM

Oh, I'm very sure it's possible I confused those. but this is the stats of the laptop I was comparing

    Processer Brand: AMD
    Processer type: Turion 64 X2
    Processer speed: 2.0GHz
    Bus Speed: 1600MHz
    Level 2 cache: 2 x 512KB

AMD uses a different type of bus than Intel per se; if you notice, intel has a significantly larger L2 cache than AMDdoes. In reality, i believe the only reason they even have the same names is to make life easier.

I don't think that has anything to do with the processor, really.

If you're wondering about watching videos and such, that has more to do with the graphics chip. I think you should be fine with that processor. You should be looking more closely at RAM, the hard drive and perhaps the graphics accelerator. The RAM in particular is central to multi-tasking ability.

The ram is 3GB which is good for me but the hard drive speed is 5400RPM which is normal for how much I paid I guess. And yes I watch videos and things like that and it says "Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and 358MB of total shared video memory"
