Wait, you have an integrated gpu? Sorry, but thomas is wrong, your laptop can only be upgraded if you started with a dedicated card (i.e. 8400m).

Yes. The GPU is definitely on-board, integrated into the chipset. It should be removable, I guess (A Chisel might help).. :D

Where have you read this?  You shouldn't answer if you really don't know as that can lead to such a missunderstanding of someone buying something they cannot use, that would have gotten me angry! (if that happened to me that is) and i guess you wouldn't have liked it if you where to be recommended something that you couldn't use that you asked for, that cost you several hundred bucks. Right? :)

Alright. No Problem. Since you cannot read the sticky, I'll write you down a small tutorial (which should be helpful to others as well)....

    • Firstly, the Chisel will definitely help !! :p
    • Take it and pop out the GM965 chipset.
    • Then on fleEbay, buy a PM965 chipset - They're not hard to find, and are cheap.
    • Now since the PM965 chipset is BGA, you don't need to bother breaking the balls, 'cause they ain't fragile like pins.
    • Take the PM965 chipset, and hammer it down where the GM965 chipset was stuck. That's it.
    • Now go down to www.mxm-upgrade.com and buy a couple of MXM-connectors (those guys are great).
    • Take superglue, and stick the MXM-connectors to the big black slot next to the CPU socket whichever way you want to.
    • Get a 8600M GT, hell get a 9600M GT - its a sick GPU, really wicked.
    • Now take the GPU, and jam it down the mxm-connectors. Boot up, and there you go.

    Now you can call your 7720, a 7720 G with pride. :D

Meh! (Forgot about the GPU-heatsink. But nvm, its 65nm - so it should be cool)
