Hi! I hope this is in the right section of the forum. Anyways, I was wondering if finding a notebook with LED is worth it? Also, I was wondering how often students use tablets? I am going to be taking a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a major focus in Biology, and I don't know if it would be worth getting a tablet. I am having a terrible time trying to find them in Canada.

The only one that I can find is this one:
    http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10107611&catid=

We really only have futureshop and best buy up here.

The only thing that I am concerned about is actually how long the battery lasts as well as the CPU speed . How does it compare with my AMD 3700?
Also, does any one know whether a new model or sale of this tablet is going to come soon? (This model has been in futureshop for quite some time)

I don't think at this point LED should be any kind of deal breaker. It offers thinner screen, less power draw. And most importantly better overall appearance. From what I have seen so far only offered in the lower resolutions. I do not know if this is because of technological reasons or just the market (WUXGA could be very expensive)?

Tablet? I have no experience so not good advice. Is the ability to hand write on the screen the only difference? If so for me not needed. For you? You decide.

Is the 3700 a 2.4Ghz single core first out in 2004? If so I would say the 2Ghz RM-70 dual core would crush the 3700. I do not think the clocks are equal advantage to RM-70. But even if not you are talking about 4GB total CPU power vs 2.4Ghz. Well even if apps are not multi threaded you still gain advantage as background processes can run on one core freeing up the other for nothing but the app you are using. And I don't think most people only have 1 app open at a time, further advantage to RM-70.

I don't know about sales. That is the AMD Puma platform. It gives a very balanced system performance. It does not have as good of power mgmt as Intel's. But still good. You can order from XoticPC and only pay the Provence tax no duties/tariff. You also have PCVillage, Eurocom and CDW. Another that I can't remember it is an acronym and starts with "N" also NewEgg is coming.

Thanks for the great information Powerpack! I really really appreciate it!
And yes I have a single core AMD 3700+ processor in my current machine clocked in at 2.21GHz.
