    Hello
I came up with one bizzare idea but may be useful?
I was thinking, it is possible to exchange LCD display between 18,4" Sony Vaio
and 18,4" Acer laptops? they are same sizes so it could be possible
    what do you think guys?
    Thank You

If all the important things match: same size, same connectors, same aspect ratio... then it's perfectly doable.

CCFL and LED backlighting aren't directly interchangeable. So make sure both panels have same before you take apart any otherwise working computers :D

As KLF mentioned, it is possible if you're using two LCD panels that use the same size, connectors, etc.

But the bigger question is why? What benefit are you trying to achieve?

Because the drawback is that you risk damaging your two laptops or the two screens. A lot of the small wires for monitor connectors are very delicate, and can be very easy to damage if you accidentally cut / pinch them. And anything that does go wrong during this process would be on your shoulders to repair... it would not be covered under warranty.

Yeah I knew this question will comes up so I have answer:
    From one reason
I have purchased brilliant laptop (ACER) but scren is quite poor
But my old Sony Vaio has X-black LCD with RGB 3chip LED
The best display what Sony made in laptops its same as in bravia TVs
But Sony Laptop department discontinued this model cos it was very expensive to make and selling was to low
