I'm am goin to purchase the hp dv2000t in a few days. I am unsure which processor to choose. I know the more I spend the better performance I will get, but I'm also looking for a good bargin. Is it worth spending the extra amount to go with the top of line processor, or will I not notice much difference going with a mid grade. With this computer I will be doing school work, video editing, light gaming, windows vista in the future. Here are my options....

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Solo processor T1350 (1.86 GHz)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2050 (1.60 GHz)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2250 (1.73 GHz)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2400 (1.83 GHz)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz)

    Intel(R) Core(TM) Duo processor T2600 (2.16 GHz)

I'm think of going with the t2250

    u know the that T1350, T2050, and T2250 are all @ 533MHz?

just to tell you incase, but yes, i would go for that. since T1350, T2050, and T2250 are 533MHz, im not sure if you can upgrade to a core 2 duo, provided that Hp even makes new bios for it...

Hmm, I wonder what happened to the T2300? It was a 1.66GHz, but it runs on a 667MHz front side bus.

If I were you, I'd probably go for the T2400 (1.83), it's generally considered to be the sweet spot for price/performance ratios. I wouldn't bother with the T1300, since it's only a single core CPU...

I would recommend the T2400 or the T2500. Usually the upgrade from T2400 to T2500 is not much, but it of course depends on the seller.

I haven't read much about them, but has anybody tried pinmodding one of the 533mhz CPUs? It was a huge success on the PMs, and it would seem to me that it would be very possible that it would work the same on these processors as well. It could almost be beneficial to get a computer with a lower speed processor instead so that you can pinmod it to a higher speed.
