    Hey guys,

I cant seem to find a definite answer for my question but after a few days of scrambling around the web finding info on the two drives.. I'm not quite sure what to pick for my Lenovo T500.

    Currently my disk usage is:
    W7: 26.7GB/50GB free.
    Ubuntu: 4.6GB/10GB free.
and a couple GB in my backup partition for work, all the rest of the space can be easily transferred to my desktop so it shouldnt matter.

I've read some posts that I shouldnt be filling the SSD to the max; for example, I should leave about 20% free space on the SSD for best performance. Could someone confirm?

I am also aware of the fact that the X25-M is twice as fast as the X25-V, but I'm not sure if that matters too much since I only do work (programming), browse, and occasionally Warcraft 3. Will the performance gap matter for my uses?

I've also read that OCZ Vertex drives were great as well but since Intel has been always great with their products, I've decided to keep my options limited to Intel drives. Unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Price is not much of a factor, just trying to fit my needs.

If there is anything other additional information I could provide please ask.
    Thanks!

Well right now you can get a G1 1.8" X25-M for $150.00 its the best deal for sure. Even comes with a external drive enclosure to put your old hdd in.

Its not as fast as the G2 and it has no TRIM support but for the quite large price cut I think its worth it.

Generally, yes, you will want to keep about 20% of your available space unallocated on your solid state drive.

I am currently running 33/60 GB on my solid state drive, with my music and videos on an external hard drive. I am using a 60GB OCZ Agility - got it for around $156 after Bing cashback and shipping on Ebay. I'm an average user, but I can definitely say that it has dramatically improved the snappiness of my setup.

get the X25M... Its the better one although more expensive.... if u can get the G2 version which has TRIM and is better and would keep it performance over time unlike the G1 SSD...

In that case, the 40 GB would be the prefect fit.

If money's no option, then as long as the added capacity has not detrimental effects, I'd get that one.
