I'm probably not going to wait for it. Its still over a year away, and if you need a notebook now, just get one and when nehalem and capella come out sell your old one if you have to.

Though prelim testing of the nehalem is pretty darn impressive ^__^.

I'm waiting till 2010, I have this list of stuff I want in my next laptop. Since I like to wait a for a few platforms to go by, 90nm (now with Inspiron 9100) to 32nm 13" in 2010. Till then my EEE and next year dual core Atom will suffice.

    Next main laptop needs:
    • Blu-Ray (I watch movies on the Inspiron)
    • SSD (love the one in my EEE, sometimes)
    • Backlit keyboard (So I can use the computer in the dark more easily)
    • 13.3" or 13.1" LED screen
    • 32nm Westmere processor with ATI/Nvidia switchable graphis
    • usb 3.0 (will be out)
    • Bluetooth 3.0 (do not really need)
    • DisplayPort (don't need, but want)

Well after going through 6 or 7 laptops in the last year, I'd like to wait a good while with my Studio 15 and watch technology progress. By then a new machine should be quite a bit faster and I should be impressed with the increase of speed. Or at least that is the plan. 2010 sounds like a good year for me too.

I am hoping for kleer wireless audio support in laptops. Kleer supports cd quality wireless and hopefully will become mainstream soon.
