i also know that for T9900, hp spare parts site is cheapest but do u really need a T9900... u can get a T9600 which is slightly slower and u can overclcok it to T9900 speeds... IMO T9900 is not worth the price... Also try tigerdirect.com , newmegg.ca and of course ebay... Amazon might also have it...

but its an apple processor and u might have compatibility problems... might be black listed in BIOS and also runs warmer and has higher TDP than T9900... and T9900 overclocks better...

Blacklisted processors? I've never heard of that before. Also don't worry about the TDP, that 55w or 44w to 35w difference is not real, just marketing. The true difference would be tiny for the C0 and not there for the E0. The only thing negative about it is that it might be a C0 revision, and not the E0 revision, which can run on a little lower voltage and overclock higher if that is your thing. If it is an E0 model they would be pretty much identical. Wikipedia correctly lists all the Core 2 duo models that you can check out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Core_2_microprocessors#Dual-Core_Notebook_processors

Yep, got an E0 revision with VID of 0.975V, runs nice, cool and very fast. No compatibility problems at all in my gateway laptop, no bios update or anything needed.

Stop trolling and misinforming ppl... there might be no difference in betwenn the 35W and 25W but there is gonna be a difference for sure between 55W and 44W... ur better off and safer with a T9900...

The two E0 processors are identical in all but name. I didn't say there was no difference between the C0 E8435 and the E0 T9900. I said the true difference in temperature would be tiny. The C0 would run slightly hotter than the E0. The E0 E8435 and the E0 T9900 are the same exact processor, however.

You are the one talking about it being "black listed in BIOS," running warmer, and not overclocking as well. Funny you call me out when you are just making up garbage.

Well do u mind enlightening me why a X9100 doesn't work in my Dv5t?.... It also has a 44W TDP... Shouldn't my laptop boot with it? I'm quite sure it will boot with a T9900....

Really, you are telling me that you've tried and it didn't work? And stop with the TDP nonsense.

If they have 1066Mhz bus speeds as an option they will. Everyone who has tried them have had success running them. The only people who don't like them are ones who bought earlier steppings that run hotter than the final stepping, so you're good if it's an E0.

i'm not sure if their CPU ID are in BIOS, if not, even if bus speed is compatible, there is a chance i can't use them?

The laptop will recognize most of the CPUID. The only part it won't recognize is the model name. It will know it is a penryn and how to use it, so don't worry if it says it is an "unkown" processor or whatever.

you might have problems with the E series... it could not be supported by ur BIOS so ur laptop won't boot or you might get heat problems as TDP is 44W... your really better and safer off with T9900 which should boot for sure.
