Hey guys ,do we have here owner of Intel 525 msata SSD.
I ask becuase i want to buy low power consumption msata for ultrabook and some people been complaining that this SSD can go very hot(91 celzius)before freeze.
So i need to know did they fix this with firmware.
17 customers on Newegg are satisfied and give it 5 stars exept one that complain also on heat.

simply put, no, SSDs don't get hot at all, unless:
    1) it is in a system that generates a lot of heat whilst the SSD sits right next to the heatsink
    2) the SSD is faulty, or has a short circuit (short circuit causes either the chip or the "wire" on the pcb generate heat, try connecting nothing but an electric wire through a house plug, i guarantee an instant thermal meltdown on the wire due to excess heat)

    solution for:
    1) the computer you are running is designed by retards, get a new computer
    2) covered by warranty

get whatever you feel like, though the time-proven std SATA drives are crucial m4, plextor m3 pro, samsung 830 and intel 520

non-time proven msata drives will be their equivalent msata product lines using the exact(?) same component in a smaller footprint

Well, I'm an owner of a Intel 525 msata SSD. Can't say i'm a proud one. Bought it for 99€, the 120GB version. And yes, it runs way, way hot. In fact, hotter than any other of my laptop's component (a Clevo P150EM). It actually reached about 95ºC during the Windows 8 installation. Odly enough, it performs quite well, even when going past the 70º Max Operating temperature! It usually idles around high 60s ºC . Intel has said that the SSD is only adequate for computers with "active cooling solutions" so there's that. Ah, and guess what, it is rated as "300mW" TDP ,but it is actually 3.3V and 1A, so it is actually 3.3W . I'm severely disappointed, and no firmware update has solved this issue for me. I'm probably going to RMA it when I get some time and patience to do so.
