I see on custom laptop sites ie: XOTIC, PCTorqe... they offer an Intel Turbo Robinson Memory for Vista. You read the info and it says it helps vista and all programs load faster, saves power, and HDD usage.

    1) Is this true?

    2) Is it worth $45 for 2 Gig or $85 for 4 Gig?

    3) Which would be better if it works?

Thanks for any and all imput on this!

Most people on this forum have found that if you have sufficient memory (ie. 3-4GB) then you will not notice any benefit with Intel Turbo memory.

Turbo memory will help you resume from hibernation and standby faster. Also, boot time will be a little faster.

    1) Yes, it'll help program load faster. The difference is there, but not day and night difference.

    2) No

    3) 4Gig turbo memory would abviously be better.

AFAIK, it still provides almost no noticeable poerformance increase. ;)

I have 2GB Turbo mem with 2GB RAM and there is very little noticable differences in terms of performance benefit over not using the turbo memory. Yeah, boot, hibernation times seem to have improved a bit along with general program loading times but the differences are small and as long as you have 3GB+ RAM I dont think its worth paying for it as an option. Mine was a preconfigured machine and included turbo memory, I wouldnt have purchased it if ordering a custom machine.

IMO, I think robson will have a short life. With Windows 7 around the corner along with the rise of SSD's and cheap RAM, I dont see the usefulness of this technology in the long run.
