Your only bet is a Clevo from RJTech.com. You can buy all the components and assemble them yourself, or have them do it for you.

Many resellers do barebones systems, but without a vendor or source for your parts, purchasing each component will add up to more $ than having a system assembled for you from a retailer/reseller.

Those are drives for servers/data centers. They won't work in a laptop.

Yep. Although they're 2.5" drives, they're encased in a 3.5" heatsink for a reason. The power consumption and vibration from such a drive won't work with a laptop. In general, with laptops, your best bet is just to buy a finished system and upgrade certain components that you need to, if there's a price advantage in doing so.

Remove the heatsink and the drive will likely cause a meltdown inside the laptop. :p

That's what i did but, i got 5920G from my boss. I couldn't afford the 1k+ and saving up to it really wasn't an option as it would just get spent long before then. So i got it up and running and upgraded 1 part a time. in the end spending more money was more affordable for me.

If you have seen TriTurbo's cooling mod you might understand what i'm getting at when say it be plausible with heat pipes  (I couldn't find the cross eye'd smiley)

Not really plausible because that really defeats the purpose of a notebook. It's not just the heat but the aforementioned power consumption and vibration.

his heat pipe existed inside the notebook with additional heat sink fins added to the main heatsink but, regardless i feel that it wouldn't work well and the drive would die or possibly even damage notebook from heat and vibrations.
