I was about the only one really happy to see e-SATA finally out on notebooks. Namly the new Asus G1S, G2S, and C90.

Most people are really happy with the portability and speed of USB 2.0 external drives. While a performance user like myself would need esata to get full speed from say a raid 0 external drive.

However with the announcement that SanDisk just got windows certified on these things and there given transfer speed. I think everybody will be able to appreciate esata if you want to buy one:

Id definitely have one internal if I could, but since there is no space... an external drive running via esata is the next best thing.

Using 1/2 the power of a traditional HDD, once these things hit the 60gb+ mark I wont be surprised to see alot of you guys replacing your main HDD with one. Much faster, and 1/2 the power use! sounds like a win/win to me.

Guess we just need to sit tight and wait for prices now :p
